The Foundation is proud to be able to offer ten scholarships to students who intend to continue their studies at a college or university. A short description of each scholarship follows. Choose which scholarship or scholarships you intend to compete for and submit it along with the required supporting materials to: Anchor Bay High School Counseling Office, 6319 County Line Road, Fair Haven MI 48023, or the Anchor Bay Community Foundation, 51066 Washington Street, New Baltimore 48047. The deadline for submission is the end of the day on the last Friday in April. ABHS scholarship winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony; graduates of other schools will be notified by mail. SCHOLARSHIPS:
ANN M. RUZZIN Fine Arts Scholarship ~ $1,100 Awarded annually to an Anchor Bay High School student who shows exceptional promise and intends to pursue additional education in the field of Fine Arts.
Requirements:
FRANK C. RUZZIN Science/Engineering Scholarship ~ $1,100 Awarded annually to an Anchor Bay High School student who intends to pursue further education in the field of science and/or engineering.
Requirements:
STUART MacDONALD Business & Technology Scholarship ~ $1,300 Awarded annually to a student who intends to pursue further education in the business or technical field.

JOSEPH P. ABELL Performing Arts Scholarship ~ $500 Created by friends and admirers of Anchor Bay school teacher Joe Abell, to memorialize his contributions and encourage further study and participation in performing arts.

ANCHOR BAY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION Performing Arts Scholarship ~ $1,100 Awarded to a student who has added significantly to the richness of the Anchor Bay Community, including the greater New Baltimore and Chesterfield areas, through accomplishments in the performing arts and who intends to pursue further education in the performing arts.

ANCHOR BAY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION Liberal Arts Scholarship ~ $1,100 Awarded to an outstanding high school senior who intends to pursue further education at a college or university.
Requirements:
JUSTIN MELLO Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice Memorial Scholarship ~ $1,600 Awarded to a high school senior who intends to pursue further education and a career in the field of Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice.

KEITH W. MARCOLA Medical Memorial Scholarship ~ $1,000 Awarded to a high school senior who intends to pursue further education and a career in the medical field.

BETTE DUNLAP CARROTHERS Vocal Music Scholarship - $1,000 This award, named for music educator Bette J. Carrothers, is being made available through a start-up grant from the Mac Fund administered by the Foundation for a worthy Anchor Bay High School graduating senior who intends to pursue further education in vocal music. Bette Carrothers taught music at Anchor Bay schools for more than thirty years and continues to share her love of music with the community as director of the New Baltimore Interfaith Choir. In 2006 Bette and the Choir celebrate 40 years of bringing music to the community. It is hoped that a permanent endowment be established for a vocal scholarship.

ANCHOR BAY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION Instrumental Music Scholarship - $1,000 This award is being made available through a start-up grant from the Mac Fund administered by the Foundation to an outstanding high school senior who intends to pursue further education in instrumental music. It is hoped that a permanent endowment be established for an instrumental scholarship.
